Terms & Conditions

All Cakes made by Rachael Smith and Cakes by Rach are subject to the following terms and conditions

Allergies

All fruit cakes may contain nuts, or traces of nuts or nut oil in the marzipan. We can eliminate the marzipan by using a double layer of sugar paste, however none of our cakes can be guaranteed totally nut free.

The cakes are made in premises in which nuts are used, every effort is taken to keep ingredients separate however cakes may contain traces of nuts or nut oil.

Cakes by Rach cannot guarantee that our cakes are free from any allergens (ie. Nuts, milk, eggs, gluten, soya, etc) and therefore cannot assume any responsibility to any allergic reactions that may occur.

Storage

All cakes are made to be eaten on the day of the celebration. Sugar paste (the soft icing covering the cake) is not designed to be refrigerated and as such cakes with this icing should be stored in a cool dry place, preferably in the box they were supplied in, refrigeration may cause colours to run. Please consume any leftovers within 3 days.

Orders

We prefer three months notice on wedding cakes however we will accept short notice cakes subject to the availability of the date required.

Any cake ordered from a picture or photo of a cake produced by any other cake maker, can only be reproduced as our interpretation of that cake and will not be an exact reproduction of the cake in the picture or photo.

Deposits/Cancellation

We require a 50% deposit on placement of order for all cakes, which is deducted from the final balance payable. 50% of the deposit is refundable if the order is cancelled 1 week prior to the delivery date, but any orders cancelled after this period forfeit the entire deposit. This does not apply to wedding cakes. Wedding cakes require a 50% deposit 3 months prior. Wedding cake deposits are non-refundable.

Delivery

Cakes will be delivered and set up subject to availability; any arrangements for delivery may be subject to change, however prior notice will be given where possible. Delivery avaliable to most places in South Wales (possibly further afield depending on situation), including Cardiff, Caerphilly, Newport, Bridgend, Blackwood, Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondaa Taff, Pontypridd, Cwmbran, Abergavenny, Monmouth, Tredegar, Ebbw Vale, Rhymney. A small delivery fee may apply to some locations.

Publication
We may wish to publish images of some of our cakes from time to time. We reserve the right to use images of any cake made by us in any way that we reasonably wish, for the purpose of advertising and procurement of future orders.
